Point a web browser at the file Welcome.html to get started. (Any browser, including text-only browsers, should read these html pages just fine.) Files called `README' or `0README' contain information explaining the contents of directories (or folders). ====================================================================== NOTE TO MACINTOSH AND WINDOWS USERS: This CD was created on a unix computer. Most files on this CD are plain text files. You must read these files using a tool that is aware of the differences between Unix and Mac/Windows with regards to the end-of-line character. Most tools handle this without problem. Microsoft Notepad is a notable exception. DO NOT USE NOTEPAD!! Wordpad works fine. When copying text files from the CD to your hard drive, you might want to use an end-of-line conversion tool. Do not edit input files for Atoms, Feff, Autobk, or Feffit using a word processor such as Word or Word Perfect. Always use a text editor such as Wordpad, Emacs, BBEdit, or Alpha. Word processors will insert additional, unwanted characters in the file which will confound the analysis programs. ====================================================================== BR April 23 2001
