Obtaining FEFF

The FEFF Project codes are software licensed through the University of Washington Office of Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer. Obtaining FEFF is straightforward :

Complete, sign and mail to us an original hard-copy license agreement.
We will send you an invoice number.
Send payment.
We will contact you by e-mail with a username and password for downloading FEFF.
Download and install FEFF.

License agreement.

We cannot release FEFF to you until we have received a completed original hard-copy license agreement signed by the end-user. This agreement can be downloaded here and printed out. Please note that the forms provided here only refer to FEFF versions 7 and newer, 9 being the current version. Earlier versions may be obtained by contacting the FEFF administrator.

We distinguish two kinds of users. Each has its own license agreement :

For academic, non-profit, or government clients:

Download all three (3) forms appropriate for your organization and make a hardcopy of each. Fill out the order form and the license agreement completely. Return the order form and license agreement along with proper payment or a copy of an official purchase order to

Note : The end-user must be a permanent member of the research group, laboratory, or institution. If you are a graduate student or postdoctoral research associate, the senior person in your laboratory (professor or laboratory director) should complete and sign the license agreement.

Payment.

1) By check or Money Order in US Dollars, or
2) By institutional Purchase Order, or
3) By electronic bank wire transfer, or
4) By credit card.

NOTE: "XXX" = The invoice number we assign to your order. You must include the FEFF invoice number on the wire transfer. If you are paying for FEFF with an electronic bank wire transfer, do not request the wire transfer until you have received an invoice or invoice number from us. Wire transfers sent without a FEFF invoice number often do not get credited to the FEFF account and therefore you may not be credited with your payment.

Downloading FEFF.

Once we have received the properly completed license agreement and payment or purchase order, we will contact you by e-mail with your password to download FEFF via the Internet.

Troubleshooting

Problem: You cannot download the order form and/or the license agreement.
Problem: You cannot print out the forms.
Problem: You sent in the paperwork and a lot of time has elapsed.
Problem: You do not have reliable Internet access or you cannot download the software.: Solution: Contact the FEFF Project Assistant by mail, phone, or e-mail. We'll help you sort it out.

Feff Return/Refund Policy

Once a user has downloaded and installed FEFF, there is no way to return the software. If a user experiences difficulties, technical assistance is available, either via phone call or e-mail, or with an in-person visit from FEFF technical staff.
If a user is not satisfied with the performance of the software, the license fee will be refunded.
